While some astrologers may think that a business plan is unsexy or boring, it actually works just like the GPS on your phone. Using one to get from home to somewhere you’ve never been before will help you avoid the traffic jams and roadworks along the way. In the same way, nothing beats having an actual business plan in place. We will get to the business planning in the next lesson, but for now, it’s worthwhile stopping to consider and reflect on your journey so far and what’s gotten you to this place.
Why are you in business? This is one of the first questions that need answering when starting any venture. If your answer doesn’t align with what motivates you, it can cause big problems down the line. Before moving forward and joining this industry, make sure you understand why exactly do want to turn your hobby into a professional practice because understanding will help guide future steps as well as keep feet on solid ground when times get tough.
Perhaps you feel that astrology is a powerful tool for positive transformation and healing.
Doing astrology readings makes you feel alive. It comes very naturally and when you share that passion with the world it feels good because people appreciate what you do.
People might react positively to your astrological interpretations and discover real meaning.
You may want to ditch your day job and take up astrology as a full time (paying) gig.
Or you may be being guided by the universe towards a destiny in astrological research and reading for others.
As I speak to astrologers, these are some of the things they express to me, when they talk about their purpose. But what about you? What’s your unique purpose? Why do you love astrology?
We recommend you set aside about 20 minutes for this activity
Prepare a quiet space where you won’t be interrupted. If you can, light a candle and start to meditate on the flame. When you’re ready, go within to understand why you want to become an astrologer. Dig deep and try to find the why that is unique for you. What are your core motivations and beliefs for why you want to do this?
When you have finished meditating, in your journal jot down some notes about how you felt and what you felt your inner voice saying to you.
What came out of this time of reflection?
